If it materializes, it will be the second time WarGames has graced the main roster, following its debut at the previous year’s Survivor Series in Boston. Current chatter hints at only a men’s WarGames bout, with the much-talked-about Judgment Day group being a potential participant in the dual-ring, multi-person cage battle. However, it’s important to note that these plans remain speculative.
Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, played a key role in introducing the iconic match format to WWE, initially as part of the “NXT” brand. However, the true architect behind this legendary stipulation is none other than “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, who is also the father of WWE Undisputed Tag Team Champion Cody Rhodes. Rhodes conceptualized WarGames during his tenure as the chief storyteller of Jim Crockett Promotions. Originally associated with the Great American Bash tours of the ’80s and later becoming a staple in WCW during the ’90s, its incarnation within WWE has found a home in November, often aligning with the “NXT” WarGames event.
