The Announcement of the Dusty Rhodes Classic Cody Rhodes kicked off WWE NXT with a duel against Christian’s prerecorded promo from a control room where none of the screens showcased WWE NXT. The grand revelation was the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, following the women’s tournament.

Adding a twist, Ilja Dragunov and Dominik Mysterio, accompanied by Rhea Ripley, joined Cody’s announcement. Rhodes hinted at a forthcoming NXT Championship match, and to everyone’s surprise, declared LA Knight as the special guest referee.
