Matt Riddle will not be a focal point for WWE this week and is reportedly not scheduled to attend tapings.
According to a recent report from PWInsider, Riddle is absent from the WWE Raw tapings tonight. This comes after he made allegations of a sexual assault incident involving an officer at JFK Airport in New York City. PWInsider also notes that Riddle has been removed from WWE’s live events schedule for the week, including stops in Washington and Idaho.
Riddle initially posted his claims of sexual assault on Instagram but later deleted the post. Nevertheless, authorities proceeded with a thorough investigation into the matter. Riddle followed up with another Instagram post, expressing his desire never to return to JFK Airport, where the incident allegedly took place.
Reports indicate that Port Authority officers encountered a disorderly individual disembarking from a plane, who was later identified as Matt Riddle. Riddle was described as initially apologetic, which reportedly surprised the Port Authority given his subsequent accusations.
Riddle had recently formed an on-air alliance with Drew McIntyre, but it appears that he will be absent from WWE programming this week. Riddle had expressed frustration with WWE’s creative direction, stating that it was easier to win fights in UFC than in WWE. As of early August, Riddle had won only three singles matches since his return to the company in April.
