After a tumultuous win against Dillon Danis, Logan Paul has announced his next desired opponent.
Paul, who hadn’t fought since his exhibition match with Floyd Mayweather in June 2021, emerged victorious over Danis – an MMA combatant – due to disqualification last Saturday.
The bout concluded in a widespread fracas at the AO Arena in Manchester. The climax became chaotic as Danis, 30, tried to subdue Paul with a guillotine technique. Paul, elder sibling of Jake, retaliated by aiming a punch at his grounded rival.
At first, a lone security guard rushed into the ring, soon joined by nearly 30 more. As Danis began to strike out at them, Jake also got embroiled in the melee.
Although it marked Danis’ boxing debut, he had previously been an MMA contender for four years. Paul, now 28, had a single defeat on his record, a 2019 split-decision setback to KSI, who was originally slated to face Danis but opted out.
Post-match, Paul lambasted Danis, branding him as a “deplorable individual.”
“He claims expertise in jiu-jitsu. What went wrong?
“I halted his takedown attempt. He tried a guillotine on me, and I regret missing that hammer punch. That would’ve been something.
“I regret the way it concluded, everyone. Dillon Danis genuinely is spineless and a deplorable individual.”
Prior to their match, Danis had taken shots at Paul’s fiancée, Nina Agdal, with a string of harsh tweets.
Shortly after his victory, Paul hinted at his readiness to step into the boxing ring once more, targeting WWE’s Rey Mysterio next.
Addressing the iconic Mexican wrestler, Paul informed the press: “Boxing is just a pastime… My real calling? I’m a WWE sensation. … I’m a patriot, and I’m after that US title. Rey Mysterio, I’ve defeated you once, and I’m eyeing that U.S. championship.”
Mysterio was quick to respond, tweeting: “Did @loganpaul challenge me? I’m right here, mate,” Mysterio shared on X. “Catch me every Friday Night on SmackDown.”
Paul is apparently expected to make a comeback next month.
