Kevin Nash didn’t hold back when discussing CM Punk’s actions following his firing from AEW, but some of his comments were lighthearted.
The two-time WWE Hall of Famer shared his thoughts on CM Punk in the latest episode of Kliq This Podcast, which was recorded before AEW All Out. Nash predicted that Punk would be let go from the company due to his actions at AEW All In at Wembley. Nash playfully poked fun at Punk, referencing their previous in-ring encounter in 2012.
“At this point in my career, I apologize to the Waffle House for actually calling him a short-order Waffle House cook. My bad. F**k you, Phil. Yeah, I always like my wrestlers to have birthing hips.”
Nash also recalled two valuable pieces of advice he received from the late Randy Savage: never take yourself out of the game and always stay in shape. He believes Punk ignored the former. Additionally, Punk’s actions, particularly sucker-punching a smaller opponent, make Nash skeptical about WWE considering him for a return.
“He made himself look like a fool because he sucker-punched a smaller guy. Are you going to reward him? Put him in a locker room with men? Nah, man, f**k no.”
Nash did give credit to Tony Khan and AEW for their work on All In, but he felt CM Punk’s actions overshadowed the event.
“How about a round of applause for AEW and Tony for filling 80,000 seats at Wembley, for the entire crew, including Punk and Joe, who put on a hell of a show from top to bottom? My biggest concern is that instead of this being a monumental moment for the company, the CM Punk story takes center stage. It overshadows everything that happened that night, including Chris Jericho’s match with Ospreay. I mean, come on, man. Despite all the work and effort, nobody is talking about the rest of the card.”
Nash concluded the episode by jokingly saying he doesn’t hold any grudges against CM Punk, but the podcast received excellent numbers the previous week thanks to all the discussion about Punk.
“Let’s milk this for as long as we can. F**k that.”
