Jake Paul is rumored to be in discussions about stepping into the ring with former WWE sensation, Matt Riddle, following the latter’s recent departure from WWE.
In recent years, Jake Paul has etched a niche in boxing, predominantly taking on competitors who are relatively fresh to the boxing scene. Apart from facing Tommy Fury – who gave Paul his only defeat – Jake, known as ‘The Problem Child,’ has largely squared off against former MMA fighters.
He boasts two victories against Tyron Woodley and has also triumphed over Nate Diaz and Ben Askren. However, post his win against Woodley, Paul has been on a hiatus.
Speculations are rife about Paul seeking a rematch with Fury, particularly if the UK reality TV personality manages to best KSI on October 14. There are also whispers about a potential face-off between Paul and KSI. But now, ex-WWE champion Matt Riddle seems to be emerging as a potential opponent for Paul.
According to Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the renowned wrestling and MMA journalist disclosed potential discussions centered around a Paul-Riddle showdown.
Meltzer’s October 6 issue mentions that these discussions are in their nascent stage, with clarity still pending on whether the bout would be a traditional boxing match or an MMA face-off.

Paul, it’s worth noting, has an existing arrangement with PFL for his inaugural MMA fight in their Super Fights division. While it’s yet to transpire, he has hinted at facing a renowned opponent when it does materialize.
