Former two-time “WWE NXT” North American Champion, Carmelo Hayes, recently posted on X, previously Twitter, with a word of caution for this week’s special “NXT” guest, John Cena, about the notorious “NXT” parking lot.
“When you arrive at the ‘NXT’ parking, give me a ring. I’ll escort you in, just to ensure everything’s smooth,” Hayes shared.
In the October 10 episode of “NXT,” Cena will be supporting Hayes in his bout against Bron Breakker. The history between Hayes and Breakker is quite intense. Hayes started his sole “NXT” Championship journey by defeating Breakker at the Stand & Deliver event in April. Their subsequent face-off was at the Battleground event in May, where Hayes retained his title against Breakker. But just last week, at No Mercy, Hayes’ reign ended with a victory by Ilja Dragunov.
Hayes’ gesture towards Cena isn’t just out of respect. The “NXT” parking has a reputation, given earlier this year, a storyline depicted many from the “NXT” women’s division being ambushed by a disguised attacker, later unveiled as Blair Davenport.
The forthcoming “NXT” episode is set to rival a special “AEW Dynamite” episode, which usually broadcasts on Wednesdays. WWE has secured big names like Cena, Asuka (scheduled to compete against former “NXT” Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez), Cody Rhodes, and Paul Heyman for this episode. Buzz also suggests a potential cameo by WWE Hall of Famer, The Undertaker.
