Bron Breakker bids farewell to WWE NXT.
On February 16, WWE SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis confirmed that NXT Tag Team Champion Bron Breakker had officially inked a deal that would bring him up to WWE’s main roster, specifically to the SmackDown brand. Over the next few weeks, Breakker pulled double duty, making weekly appearances on both SmackDown and NXT. After he and Baron Corbin lost the NXT Tag Team titles last night, though, Breakker will now claim SmackDown as his home.
On Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT, Axiom and Nathan Frazer defeated Breakker and Corbin to win the NXT Tag Team Championships. Following their loss, Breakker delivered a farewell speech, confirming his plans to permanently ascend to WWE’s main roster. Breakker also expressed his gratitude for the NXT Universe, as well as NXT’s head booker, Shawn Michaels, and the coaches at the WWE Performance Center.
“We came out here tonight to really thank all of you,” Breakker said. “I got my start right here in this very building from day one back in NXT 2.0. Right here in the WWE Performance Center, since day one, all of you guys have been on this journey on this ride with me the whole time, so I cannot thank you enough. I want to thank Shawn Michaels for giving me the opportunity to come back here, along with all of the Performance Center coaches that are here every single day, working their butts off to create the future for WWE. I want to thank all the competitors who have pushed me along the way.”
What will happen to Baron now that Bron is off to the main roster?
