Tony Khan has confirmed a major dream match for AEW Dynasty.
The March 6th edition of Dynamite ended with Bryan Danielson staring down Will Ospreay following The Commonwealth Kingpin’s main event victory over Kyle Fletcher, setting off speculation that two of the best wrestlers in the world would finally face off at AEW’s new Dynasty pay-per-view on April 21st.
On Collision, that speculation came to an end when Ospreay confronted Danielson in the ring. The Assassin praised Danielson for everything he’s done for wrestling before asking why the star interrupted him on Dynamite.
“You set the standard, the bar. Your enthusiasm for professional wrestling is infectious. You inspire me, you’ve inspired so many people. For everyone here that just loves pro wrestling, you are owed so much, and for me, on behalf of everyone if you don’t mind, thank you so much for everything that you’ve done.”
“BUT…You, you cheeky little slag, you interrupted me on my main event of Dynamite, so I’ve got this warm feeling in my belly, right, that maybe, just maybe, Mr. Danielson, You have something you wanna ask me.”
Danielson then laid down his challenge to Will Ospreay, saying he wanted to give him an opportunity to prove he’s the best.
“He said for years, he’s been screaming into the camera how he’s the best wrestler in the world and he came here to prove it. Well, I wanna give you a chance to prove it. What do you say? Bryan Danielson vs. Will Ospreay at AEW Dynasty! Ospreay, what do you say?”
Ospreay quickly accepted the challenge and the pair shook hands. Tony Khan then took to social media to confirm that the bout was official for Dynasty.
This could be one of the matches of the year!
