AEW’s President, Tony Khan, has announced that WrestleDream is set to become a yearly fixture on the AEW calendar.
The premiere of WrestleDream in 2023 was dedicated to the memory of wrestling icon Antonio Inoki, who left us on October 1st, 2022. Khan was overjoyed with the overwhelming feedback AEW WrestleDream received, noting it achieved over 100,000 buys, even outperforming AEW’s All Out event.
During the post-show briefing of WrestleDream, Khan confirmed its return in 2024. Although specific details for the 2024 edition remain under wraps, Khan hinted it might switch venues from Seattle, leaving fans in suspense about its next location.
“While I can’t predict next year’s exact location, one thing is certain: WrestleDream will be back. Based on feedback, many believe it’s one of the finest wrestling events they’ve ever witnessed.”
This move to make WrestleDream an annual event could be aligned with whispers of AEW planning to roll out 12 pay-per-views annually. The wrestling community is buzzing with excitement about what WrestleDream 2024 might entail.
What’s Up Next in AEW’s Lineup? The forthcoming confirmed AEW PPV is Full Gear, set to be hosted at the Kia Forum Arena in Inglewood, California on November 18th, 2023.
While the match card for Full Gear remains a mystery, the likelihood of featuring the newly acquired Adam Copeland, previously known as Edge, is high. It could mark his inaugural pay-per-view bout for AEW, considering his WrestleDream appearance was solely to execute a rescue.
