Rey Fenix was originally scheduled to square off against Jon Moxley tonight, completing their three-match saga. However, due to a concussion inflicted by Fenix, Moxley couldn’t participate. Stepping up in his place, Orange Cassidy, the former AEW International Champion, aimed to reclaim the title and cement another dominant run with the belt he famously elevated.
Orange Cassidy Captures the AEW International Championship Again As the bell rang, Cassidy wasted no time, charging at Fenix. However, a swift superkick from Fenix halted his momentum, setting him up for a frog splash. Fenix, eager to wrap things up quickly given his back problems, narrowly missed securing a win. Cassidy, quick on his feet, countered the Fenix driver, targeting the injury with a precise dropkick. Fenix soon found himself outside the ring and over the barricade.
Once action resumed inside the ropes, Fenix attempted the Muscle Buster, but Cassidy managed to counter, executing a Diving DDT and following with a massive Satellite DDT. While Fenix blocked the Orange Punch with a superkick, his injured back betrayed him during a Rolling Cutter attempt. Cassidy capitalized, executing the Beach Break followed by the Orange Punch and culminating with the Mouse Trap pin. And with that, Orange Cassidy reclaimed the AEW International Championship.
Almost a year to the exact day since he first held the title, Cassidy is back on top. During his previous reign, he held onto the belt for 326 days. The question now is: can he replicate such an impressive reign once more?
