John Cena seems to be contemplating the conclusion of his iconic wrestling journey.
Since his main roster debut against Kurt Angle in 2002, Cena has consistently showcased his wrestling prowess every year. With 16 World Championship titles under his belt, matching the record of Ric Flair, Cena’s career with WWE has been nothing short of spectacular. One notable absence from his impressive trophy cabinet, however, is the Intercontinental Championship.
During an interview with Namastey India Special, while in India for the Superstar Spectacle, Cena candidly discussed his age and the growing challenges it poses. Reflecting on his journey, he shared, “As I approach 50, I question how much longer my body can keep up with the rigors of wrestling. It’s been a while since 2006, and I wasn’t sure if I’d get another chance to perform here. While many aspire for titles, my dream has always been to share the thrill of WWE globally. Not performing in India before retiring would’ve been an oversight. Being here is truly special.”
John Cena Set for WWE Fastlane
Even as he reflects on his illustrious career, Cena’s commitment to the ring remains evident. Following his appearances at WrestleMania and the Superstar Spectacle in 2023, Cena is geared up for at least one more televised bout. After The Bloodline’s onslaught on AJ Styles during SmackDown, Cena seemed on the verge of facing Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa by himself. But in a dramatic twist, LA Knight emerged to aid Cena, pledging his alliance with the ex-World Champion for the upcoming Fastlane showdown.
