Evan Karagias, a former wrestling personality known for his time in WCW and WWE, has been arrested in North Carolina, as reported by Fox 8. The report indicates that Belmont Police arrested the 49-year-old, whose full name is Evan Theodore Karagias, in the early hours of November 1st.
The Gaston County Sheriff’s Office disclosed that Karagias faces charges including simple assault and injury to personal property. Following his arrest, he managed to secure his release by posting a bond set at $25,000.
Karagias is remembered for his debut in professional wrestling with WCW back in 1997 and remained with the organization until its acquisition by Vince McMahon in 2001. During his tenure, he gained prominence as part of the trio “3 Count,” a group that parodied boy bands, along with Shane Helms and Shannon Moore.
Transitioning to WWE after WCW’s closure, Karagias had a brief stint there before being released at the end of 2001. Post-WWE, he continued to wrestle on the independent circuit up until 2010.
Aside from wrestling, Karagias also ventured into acting, securing roles on television shows such as “All My Children,” “Passions,” and “ER.”
