The next adversary for Cody Rhodes might have been unveiled at a recent WWE Live Event.
WWE has declared that ‘The American Nightmare’ is set to kick off the upcoming Monday’s edition of Raw, microphone in hand, suggesting he might address the happenings from this weekend in Palm Desert, California.
At the Live Event, Rhodes was quite active, initially participating in an MVP Lounge segment with MVP and Omos and later facing NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio in a non-title street fight.
Despite interference, former WWE Intercontinental Champion Rhodes claimed victory, hinting at a possible confrontation with ‘The Nigerian Giant’ Omos, who might well be his next contender.
Omos, currently a free agent, hasn’t been featured on WWE television since his unsuccessful bid to clinch the Slim Jim Battle Royal title at SummerSlam on August 5th at Ford Field in Detroit.
With no match scheduled for Rhodes at the Premium Live Event Fastlane in October, a clash with the formidable Omos is conceivable. However, WWE might opt for a marquee matchup when the organization returns to Saudi Arabia for Crown Jewel on November 4th.
Cody Rhodes’ Recent Appearances at WWE Premium Live Events:
‘The American Nightmare’ Cody Rhodes made his presence felt at the latest WWE Premium Live Event, Payback, held at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 2nd.
The wrestler, once known as ‘Stardust’, was a guest on the popular interview segment ‘The Grayson Waller Effect’. Prior to the show, the Australian star assured fans of an “all-time scoop” and didn’t disappoint, revealing his backstage maneuver to bring ‘Main Event’ Jey Uso to the Raw brand.
Rhodes’ last competitive match at a Premium Live Event was at SummerSlam, where he triumphed over ‘The Beast Incarnate’ Brock Lesnar.
