The latest episode of AEW Dynamite proved to be quite the show, and one of the night’s highlights resulted in the announcement of the first match for Revolution pay-per-view set for early March.
Orange Cassidy has been a strong title-holder with the International Championship so far, and he will put that title on the line at AEW Revolution. This time around, the newly debuting Undisputed Kingdom members are coming after him.
On the January 17 episode of Dynamite, AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy and Trent Beretta defeated Penta El Zero Miedo and Komander in a tag team match. Soon after the match, the Undisputed Kingdom came out to confront Cassidy.
Led by Adam Cole, one of the members of the heel faction, Roderick Strong declared that the International Title belongs to him and he will face Cassidy for the belt at Revolution. Strong initially called him for participating in a tag team match rather than defending his title on Dynamite. Cassidy ignored Strong’s concerns and he was ready to defend the belt right there against Strong.
However, Strong eventually backed off his challenge and claimed that the title match should rather take place at Revolution. Cassidy vs. Strong was officially booked for AEW Revolution and it was further confirmed by AEW on social media.
Cassidy vs. Strong would be a fresh outing at AEW Revolution given they have never been in a singles outing. However, they previously teamed with Adam Cole and Bandido to take on The Jericho Appreciation Society in May 2023.
Ever since taking MJF out of the AEW TV equation at Worlds End, The Undisputed Kingdom has been on a mission for all its members. Strong is seemingly looking forward to continuing the hunt for his buddies by going after and winning the International Title.
AEW Revolution 2024 will take place on March 3 at the Greensboro Coliseum in North Carolina. Legendary Sting previously announced that his final match will take place at this particular event which promises to be historic.
