Velveteen Dream Enters Rehab

by | Sep 9, 2023 | NXT News | 0 comments

Former WWE Superstar Velveteen Dream has reportedly taken a positive step towards personal growth by entering rehab following a series of controversies.

Velveteen Dream, a former NXT North American Champion, once held great promise in the wrestling world. However, his career took a nosedive when he was released by WWE in 2021 amid allegations of sending inappropriate content to minors. That same year, he found himself in legal trouble when he was arrested by The Altamonte Springs Police Department on charges related to drug paraphernalia.

Further complicating his tumultuous journey, Velveteen Dream faced another arrest in the following year. TMZ reported an incident where he allegedly punched a gym employee and bit him during a confrontation. Shortly afterward, he was arrested again, this time on a warrant for a violation of probation by the Orlando Police Department. Velveteen Dream pleaded not guilty and was released on a $1200 bond.

Now, according to a recent report by BWE on Twitter, Velveteen Dream has taken a proactive step towards self-improvement by seeking therapy and rehabilitation.

“Hearing Patrick ‘VDream’ doing therapy and rehab. I hope he comes back better and proceeds with his life. Kid is talented,” shared BWE in a tweet.

Former WWE star EC3, who had his own experiences in NXT alongside Velveteen Dream, previously commented on the situation. Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s The Wrestling Outlaws, EC3 highlighted the need for better guidance and mentorship within the wrestling industry.

EC3 mentioned that while Shawn Michaels and Terry Taylor coached Dream to improve his in-ring skills, there was also a need for mentorship to help him become a better person outside the ring.

“So that was a thing I saw plenty of times within the industry, there is entitlement if you’re protected in a sense. What he really needed was like a second father, somebody like to look over him as his coach. I know Shawn was his coach and I think Terry Taylor coached him but. But at the same time, did they coach him in the aspect to hold him to a higher standard and become the man he should be and the talent he could have been?” questioned EC3.

Velveteen Dream’s journey is marked by both promise and pitfalls, and his recent decision to seek therapy and rehabilitation may be a pivotal step towards personal growth and recovery.
