A member of the WWE roster sidelined with injury is not expected to be back until next year.
Appearing solo on the July 8th broadcast of Raw, Pete Dunne lost to Bronson Reed in the opening match of the show. As Dunne was making his entrance, Micheal Cole informed fans that Dunne’s partner Tyler Bate suffered an injury on a previous episode of NXT and would be out for an extended period. Shortly afterwards, Bate provided the update on social media that he had undergone surgery and elaborated on the injury suffered:
“Tore my left pectoral major & tendon off the bone last week at NXT. Surgery yesterday was successful and all has been put back where it belongs. I’ll be gone for some time while I recover, try not to miss me too much.”
Unfortunately, the former United Kingdom Champion is set to be out for a considerable amount of time. As reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Bate’s injury led to the Pete Dunne heel turn that saw The Bruiserweight attack Sheamus, adding “Bate is not expected to return this year.”
