Biography

Otis Dozovic, whose real name is Nikola Bogojevic, was born on December 21, 1991, in Superior, Wisconsin, USA. Known simply as Otis in WWE, he was an accomplished amateur wrestler before his transition to professional wrestling.

Career History and Evolution

Otis was signed to WWE’s developmental territory, NXT, in 2016. He debuted as a part of the Heavy Machinery tag team alongside Tucker Knight. Their partnership was defined by their size, power, and surprising agility. In 2018, Heavy Machinery was promoted to WWE’s main roster.
Otis had a breakthrough in 2020 when he was involved in a romantic storyline with fellow WWE superstar Mandy Rose, culminating in a memorable moment at WrestleMania 36 where Otis got the girl. That same year, he won the Money in the Bank ladder match, earning an opportunity for a championship match.

Championships and Statistics

Otis’s most notable accomplishment in WWE as of 2021 is winning the 2020 Money in the Bank ladder match. However, he eventually lost the contract to The Miz without cashing it in for a title opportunity. In his time in NXT, Heavy Machinery challenged for the NXT Tag Team Championships but did not win the titles.

Major Matches and Rivalries

Otis’s rivalry with Dolph Ziggler over Mandy Rose’s affection led to a match at WrestleMania 36, which Otis won. Otis also had a brief feud with The Miz and John Morrison after they tricked him into losing his Money in the Bank contract.

Tag Team Partners and Allies

Tucker Knight was Otis’s tag team partner in Heavy Machinery until they were split up in the 2020 WWE Draft. Mandy Rose and Chad Gable have also been allies of Otis, with Gable serving as a mentor to him as part of their “Alpha Academy” partnership.

Sponsorships

Specific sponsorship details for Otis are not publicly disclosed. However, as a WWE wrestler, he is part of the larger company-wide sponsorship deals.

Family Life

Otis tends to keep his personal life private. However, it’s known that he has a strong interest in weightlifting and has competed in several powerlifting competitions outside of WWE.

Finishing Move

Otis’s finishing move is called “The Caterpillar,” a tribute to the late Scotty 2 Hotty’s “The Worm.” It’s an elbow drop following a setup that involves Otis doing a worm dance move across the ring.

In-Ring Attire and Entrance Music

Otis often wears a singlet in the ring, reflecting his amateur wrestling background. His entrance theme, “Steaks and Weights” by def rebel, is a high-energy rock track that perfectly suits his boisterous, fun-loving character.
Otis’s charisma and comedic timing, coupled with his surprising agility for his size, have made him a unique and entertaining presence in WWE. His character work, particularly in the storyline with Mandy Rose, demonstrates his range and versatility as a performer.
