Before joining WWE, Cross had a successful career on the independent circuit under the name Nikki Storm. In 2016, she signed with WWE and was assigned to their developmental brand, NXT. There, she joined the group known as Sanity, along with Eric Young,

Alexander Wolfe, and Killian Dain.
