Dana White Assumes New Role in UFC Following UFC-WWE Merger
Dana White has taken on a fresh role within the UFC as a result of the high-profile merger with WWE.
On Tuesday, Endeavor, the parent company of the UFC, successfully concluded the merger with WWE, establishing TKO Group Holdings.
In light of the collaboration between the UFC and WWE, Dana White, who had been the president of the MMA promotion since 2001 when it was acquired by the Fertitta brothers, has been elevated to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the UFC.
The statement released regarding these changes reads: “Dana White is now Chief Executive Officer of UFC, and Lawrence Epstein remains Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of UFC. Nick Khan continues at WWE in the role of President.”
Despite his new title, White’s core responsibilities as the leader of the UFC will remain unchanged. He will continue to oversee event promotion and serve as the public face of the organization.
In the WWE, Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque will continue to lead the creative department and serve as Chief Content Officer.
To mark the commencement of public trading for the UFC-WWE merger, Dana White and Endeavor CEO Ari Emmanuel rang the bell at the New York Stock Exchange. The historic ceremony was also attended by WWE executive chairman Vince McMahon, WWE CEO Nick Khan, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the UFC Lawrence Epstein, and former UFC champion Daniel Cormier, among others.
Speaking after the merger’s completion and the conclusion of Dana White’s Contender Series 62, the UFC boss expressed his excitement about the future and the organization’s increased strength following the merger. White stated, “I’m excited about the future and what we’re going to do. And I always am, regardless, but after this merger, we’re just so much more powerful than we were yesterday.”
