Jade Cargill’s tenure with AEW is drawing to a close.
The former TBS Champion recently made a return to AEW during the September 9th episode of Collision. However, this comeback appears to be short-lived, as Cargill faced off against TBS Champion Kris Statlander during the Rampage tapings in Cincinnati. According to reports from sources within WWE and AEW, it is believed that she may be on her way to WWE.
Cargill initially joined AEW in the fall of 2020 and received significant attention from the start, as there was a strong belief that she had the potential to become a major star. Her winning streak continued into the first quarter of the following year. She eventually lost the TBS Title to Statlander at Double or Nothing and then took a hiatus before her recent return.
It remains unclear when Jade Cargill will become available to sign with WWE. Her signing with AEW was officially announced on November 20, 2020, so if she was on a 3-year contract, it should be expiring in less than a couple of months.
Regarding the details of her AEW contract, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select noted that there may be contract option years in play, and he hasn’t received information about the exact duration left on her AEW deal. At this moment, it seems that her match with Statlander during the Rampage tapings might have been her final appearance with the company. While there is no official confirmation of a WWE offer, there are widespread rumors in both organizations about her potential move. As always, plans in the world of professional wrestling can change.
