Bryan Danielson hopes the crowd will chant a certain animal’s name at AEW WrestleDream to bring joy to his son.
Every parent knows that children quickly pick up and repeat certain words, sometimes leading to awkward moments. Danielson is experiencing this firsthand as his son has begun using a word starting with the letter F.
In a conversation with BJ & Migs, The American Dragon shared the origin of his son’s new vocabulary and how his wife Brie reacted to the situation:
“He [Danielson’s son Buddy] used the F word [laughs]. He said ‘fridge’ repeatedly, and my immediate reaction was to blame my wife, as any good husband would. Turns out, he learned it from two kids at school. Brie’s initial response was ‘Buddy, you cannot say that,’ which only encouraged him to say it even more.
Danielson confessed that he finds it hard to keep a straight face when his child swears but commended his wife for her ingenious solution:
“I’m either on FaceTime or connected via Bluetooth in the car, so when my wife calls me and he’s in the car, and she informs me that he keeps saying this word, I can’t help but laugh, which he hears. It reinforces the idea that he should continue saying it. Brie came up with a smart approach – she told him, ‘No, Buddy, you’re pronouncing it wrong. It’s fox.’ He then started saying, ‘Fox. Fox. Fox. Fox. Fox.’ It was a brilliant move,” said Danielson.
“Initially, Brie reacted strongly, telling him he couldn’t say that. Then she stopped reacting and corrected him, ‘Buddy, you’re pronouncing it wrong, it’s fox.’ ‘Fox?’ ‘Yes, fox.’ Now, he’s repeating fox. Our daughter loves foxes, but she struggled to pronounce fox, often sounding like the other word.”
When asked how his son would react to a Fox chant starting in Seattle, Danielson responded, “My son would love it.”
