The rumor mill is abuzz with speculation that AEW is set to increase its annual calendar to encompass 12 pay-per-view events beginning next year.
Gradually elevating the scale of its yearly happenings, AEW has rolled out notable events like WrestleDream and All In this year. Currently, the wrestling promotion operates under a television contract with Warner Bros. Discovery, featuring Dynamite on TBS, and Rampage/Collision broadcasts on TNT, while Bleacher Report hosts their pay-per-view events.
There has been a growing anticipation surrounding the possibility of AEW utilizing the Max streaming platform to showcase its repository of content. Although there were initial talks of debuting All In on the Max service, the platform could not facilitate the necessary technical requisites in time.
It’s worth noting that an ongoing extensive negotiation process between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery to prolong their TV licensing agreement is underway. Warner Bros. Discovery reportedly expressed a desire in July for AEW to enhance its pay-per-view lineup.
In the latest update from Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, AEW is indeed working on a blueprint to introduce a dozen pay-per-view events annually, alongside bringing AEW content to the Max streaming ecosystem.
